FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Atlanta, GA – GBA Equality Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, is excited to announce that it has changed its name to Q+ Equality Foundation, effective immediately. The new name more accurately reflects the organization’s focus on supporting and empowering LGBTQ+ students, and is a testament to their commitment to inclusivity and equality for all.

“Our organization has always been dedicated to promoting equality and empowerment for LGBTQ+ students,” said Thomas Ryan-Lawrence, Executive Director. “However, we felt that our previous name did not fully capture the breadth and depth of our mission, and did not resonate as well with our target audience. The name Q+ Equality Foundation more accurately reflects our cause and will help us better connect with our supporters and partners as we continue to grow.”

The Q+ in the new name represents the organization’s commitment to inclusivity, and the belief that everyone deserves to live with dignity, respect, and pride, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. The Foundation’s mission remains the same – to empower and support LGBTQ+ students by providing resources, education, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. From there, they work to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone can reach their full potential, and to promote equality, diversity, and acceptance.

Ryan-Lawrence concluded with, “We are excited to begin this new chapter in our organization’s history, and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of LGBTQ+ students. We invite our supporters and partners to join us in this journey, and to help us build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.”
